• The vision of the department is to move towards excellence in higher education in order to achieve a just, plural and society in consonance with the constitutional values.
• To create the most conducive environment for quality academic and research oriented undergraduate and postgraduate education in computer science and engineering and prepare the students for a globalized technological society and orient them towards serving the society.

Mission

• To impart high quality professional training at the undergraduate level with an emphasis on basic principles of computer science.
• To establish nationally and internationally recognized research centers and expose the students to broad research experience.
• To impart moral and ethical values, and interpersonal skills to the students.
• To empower the students with the required skills to solve the complex technological problems of modern society and also provide them with a framework for promoting collaborative and multidisciplinary activities.

Aim

The goal of the computer and information science department is to prepare students for graduate training in some specialized area of computer science, to prepare students for job in industry, business or government, and to provide support courses for students in engineering, mathematics and other fields requiring computing skills.

Objective

After successful completion of a master in computer and information sciences, students will be able to:

• Demonstrate proficiency in problem solving techniques using the computer.
• Demonstrate proficiency in at least two high level programming languages and two operating systems.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the analysis of complex problems and the synthesis of solutions to those problems.
• Demonstrate comprehension of modern software engineering principles.
• Demonstrate a breadth and depth of knowledge in the discipline of computer science.

Future and Career

In India computer science engineering is the most demanding field. It involves jobs in software development, web designing, software testing and much more. Programming in today's world has been stretched even further into other fields like mechanical and electronics and hence, its demands have been increasing. The advent of robotics and artificial intelligence too has given boost to the demand and scope of placements in CSE.
